BRANDON DICRISCIO
CO-ARTISTIC DIRECTOR

Brandon DiCriscio, from Wilmington, DE, received his initial dance training from Anne Marie and Sonny Leo. While pursuing a BA in Dance at Point Park University, he apprenticed with River North Dance Chicago, eventually being promoted to company member. While dancing with RNDC from 2007 to 2012, Brandon performed works by Sidra Bell, Frank Chaves, Daniel Ezralow, Kevin Iega Jeff, Harrison McEldowney, Lauri Stallings, and Sherry Zunker. Influential figures with whom he has collaborated include Robert Battle, Ron De Jesus, Shannon Gillen, Gustavo Ramirez Sansano, Doug Varone, and Edgar Zendejas. His true passions are dancemaking, storytelling, and teaching. Brandon has created works for various Chicago-based dance companies, as well as The Big Muddy Dance Company (now Saint Louis Dance Theatre). From 2013 to 2016, Brandon took on many roles as LEVELdance’s associate director, choreographer, and company member under the direction of Eddy Ocampo and Josh Weckesser. After a hiatus from choreography, Brandon was selected as part of the New Dances 2022 cohort of dancemakers, creating "Veiled Encounters" for this collaborative project between DanceWorks Chicago and Thodos Dance Chicago. The piece was then incorporated into the DWC repertoire the following season. He also created a new work for DWC in 2023 entitled "Dark Hour," a collaboration with the Chicago Center for Contemporary Composition. In his new role as Co-Artistic Director of LEVELdance, Brandon looks forward to continuing to share his voice throughout the vibrant Chicago Dance Community and beyond.
